Georgie Porgie -Try Love

Chicago’s very own beat wizard, Georgie Porgie, is back at it again, sprinkling his Jackin’ House magic on Táta Vega’s 1978 disco gem “Come On And Try My Love.” Georgie, who was remixing tracks while most of us were still figuring out how to tie our shoes, has been a cornerstone of the Chicago House scene since before House music was the global phenomenon we’ve come to know and love. With a trophy case that includes three Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart number ones, he’s basically the Michael Jordan of House music.

Táta Vega, the Grammy-nominated Motown diva whose voice could probably shatter glass (in a good way), is best known in the UK for her 1979 hit "Get It Up for Love." Her powerhouse vocals on this track are so soulful, they might just make you believe in love at first listen. Imagine Donna Summer and a freight train had a baby—that’s Táta’s voice.

Georgie’s remix takes the classic disco strings and bassline and gives them a shot of espresso. The result? A track so energetic, it could probably power a small city. From the relentless rhythm that’ll keep you dancing till the sun comes up, to the epic builds and drops that’ll make you feel like you’re on a musical rollercoaster, Georgie proves once again why he’s the undisputed king of Jackin’ House.

Think I’m exaggerating? Give it a spin. Then dive into Georgie’s back catalogue and you’ll see why Georgie is considered one of the true heavyweights of the Chicago scene.
